Check a card number properly: Luhn checksum, card brand from its IIN range, expected length and the missing check digit — in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
What this card number check really does
This validator runs the same structural checks a payment form runs before it submits anything. It strips spaces and dashes, applies the Luhn algorithm (mod 10 checksum) to the digits, reads the issuer identification number to name the brand (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, Maestro, UnionPay, Mir) and compares the digit count with the lengths that brand actually uses. It also shows the number in the brand's usual grouping, a masked version you can screenshot safely, and the check digit that would make an otherwise complete number valid - useful when a single digit was mistyped. Batch mode checks one number per line, which is what developers and QA testers need when they run through a set of test cards. Be clear about the limit: a passing result proves the number's structure, nothing more. It does not tell you whether the card exists, is active, has funds or belongs to anyone. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged - the whole check happens in your browser.
Was diese Kartenprüfung wirklich macht
