Decode percent-encoded URLs and encode values in your browser. Shows protocol, host, path, query parameters and fragment in a table. Invalid escapes are reported.
The breakdown always shows the readable URL: in decode mode the decoded result, in encode mode your input. Parts that are not present show a dash. An invalid escape such as %ZZ or a single % is left unchanged and reported as a warning instead of breaking the page.
URLs cannot contain spaces, umlauts or reserved characters directly, so they are percent-encoded: a space becomes %20, an umlaut becomes a byte sequence such as %C3%BC, and a literal percent sign becomes %25. This tool works in both directions. Decode mode turns an encoded string back into readable text, the reverse of JavaScript's encodeURIComponent; encode mode escapes a single value so it survives as a query parameter or path segment, or escapes a whole URL while leaving its structure characters intact. Below the fields the URL is broken into its parts: protocol, user name, password, host, port, path, query and fragment, plus a table of every query parameter with the decoded key and value next to the raw form. An invalid escape such as %ZZ stays unchanged and is reported as a warning. The plus sign is kept unless the form-data rule is switched on.
