Syllables and sentences are estimates: syllables are counted with a vowel-group rule that can be off by one for unusual words, and a run of . ! ? or … counts as one sentence break. The Flesch Reading Ease formula is calibrated for English, so for German or other languages the score is only a rough guide. Shares are percentages of all words.
What the Online Text Analyzer Reports
This analyzer describes a text as you type: word count, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs, an estimated syllable count, average word and sentence length, and the ten most frequent words with their share, leaving out common English and German function words such as the, and, der or und. It also calculates the Flesch Reading Ease score and turns it into a plain label, and it estimates reading time at 130, 200 or 300 words per minute, which you can switch while the text stays. Two parts are estimates and are labelled as such: syllables use a vowel-group rule that handles everyday words well but can be off by one for unusual ones, and the Flesch formula is calibrated for English, so for German the score is only a rough guide. Sentences are split at . ! ? and …, so a decimal point may count as a break. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.
Was der Online-Texteanalysator ausgibt
